Construction and Layout Designer Juha Kontturi has been invited to become a partner of Econet Oy starting on 14 December 2021.
Kontturi is an experienced design professional responsible for Econet’s design work. He has more than 30 years of experience in the construction, layout and infrastructure planning of water and wastewater treatment plants, e.g. in the wood processing industry and municipal water utilities.
Kontturi has worked for Econet since 2002, throughout the company’s entire history. He is also a member of the company’s Executive Team and Board of Directors.
“Econet’s outlook is excellent. We are launching new projects in Finland, and we are exploring opportunities in China, for example. The recent business acquisition brought important additions to the sale of process technology,” Kontturi says.
Back to being an owner
Kontturi was also a partner in Econet Group, from which Econet Oy separated through an MBO in August 2021.
“The original idea was to become the owner of Econet through the MBO transaction, but my previous stake in the Group became a legal obstacle,” Kontturi continues.
“Juha joining the owner group brings experience and stability to the company’s operations. Juha is one of the key people in our company and his design expertise is a great addition to the owner group’s vision of the industry,” says CEO Heikki Viitanen.
Increased demand for experienced experts
According to Kontturi, there is a strong demand for long-term planning expertise in the field of civil engineering.
“Experienced professionals are about to retire or have already retired. In order to meet future planning challenges and be more competitive, we will strengthen our team with knowledgeable people in different areas of water treatment processes,” Kontturi says.
