Sustainable Business Practices and Well-being Created by Clean Water

As a company operating in international export trade, we recognise that our customers, financiers, investors and insurers expect more from us than just financial and qualitative performance.

Sustainable business practices are an essential part of Econet’s long-term success story and competitiveness. In addition, as a contractor for water and wastewater treatment projects, we have a unique opportunity to impact the environment and improve people’s quality of life.

Operating in accordance with ESG requirements has been recognised by Econet as a strategic value driver. We are committed to reducing our environmental impact, promoting social responsibility and exercising good governance in all our activities.

Our sustainability themes

People—We invest in our people’s well-being and work-life balance by offering diverse roles, comprehensive occupational health services, and the opportunity for hybrid working. We value the diversity of our employees: gender, language, nationality, and age are all equal in our company. We provide appropriate training opportunities and encourage our employees to develop their professional skills. Occupational safety is a critical part of our operations, both when travelling and on site. We carry out regular risk assessments and health and safety inspections with reports.

Equipment and Services—The water treatment equipment we supply complies with EU machinery directives and is designed to last at least 30 years. We have invested in making the equipment easy and safe to use. High-quality materials and components ensure first-class reliability. In addition, our spare parts and maintenance services support the long life and operational reliability of the equipment.

Supply and Procurement Chain—We use high-quality European suppliers and subcontractors who have passed our audits. We optimise the loading capacity of transport units and the delivery routes of our shipments to be as efficient as possible, minimising energy and fuel consumption in relation to the amount of goods transported.

Environmental Protection—The water treatment processes and facilities we design meet increasingly stringent environmental legislation, further improving the quality of treated water and reducing the need for energy and chemicals.

Governance— We comply with all applicable rules, regulations and laws. Our management system has been audited and found to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 management system standard.

Our international customers come from different business cultures with different contractual laws and financial practices. In this environment, we employ the best industry experts as advisors. We are committed to preventing corruption in our operations.
